For AI agents and the people who build them
What software can read about Stobox, and what it cannot do.
Agents are starting to read, compare and pay on people’s behalf. An agent can only act on an asset it can verify, so we publish what is machine-readable here, where it lives, and where the boundaries are. Every live item below links to the thing itself.
Read
Four ways a model reads Stobox today.
All of them are public, and none of them needs an account.
MCP server
https://mcp.stobox.io/mcp – six tools over Stobox’s tokenization knowledge, each answer with its source link. Five tools only read; the sixth hands the conversation to a person and says so in its name. No key on the free tier. How to connect.
llms.txt
llms.txt is the site described for a model: every section, the approved company facts, and what Stobox does not do. llms-full.txt carries the full text.
Structured data
The site carries schema.org markup: the organization, its products and prices, the people, and each article with its author and dates.
Company facts
One list of the figures we stand behind, dated, on /about. Quote these; they are the same ones the markup and llms.txt carry.
The test
Three things make an asset readable by software.
A token on a chain is not enough. Without all three, an agent either skips the asset or guesses, and a careful agent skips.
A standard representation
The token follows a public interface an agent already knows how to query. Compass issues on ERC-7943, and the contracts are open source under the MIT license.
Rules inside the instrument
Who may hold, from where, under which lock-up and caps, is enforced by the token itself. Eligibility becomes a function call rather than a clause. Stobox Compass.
A record with provenance
Every claim about the asset and its issuer is structured data, and each one links to the document that proves it, graded from T0 (the company’s word) to T5 (issued by an authority). Stobox Intelligence.
Boundaries
Software acts inside mandates. People stay accountable.
The capabilities above only matter if the limits are as clear as they are.
Read-only by default
Nothing Stobox operates moves value on an agent’s instruction. The MCP server reads; it cannot sign, transfer or pay.
Mandates before money
Where software may one day act on an asset, it acts only under an explicit, bounded mandate: an allowlist, caps, an expiry and a kill switch, set by the person responsible.
A legal entity behind every agent
An agent is a tool of a company or a person. Accountability stays with them, and so does compliance: regulated activity runs through licensed partners.
What we do not do
Payment rails, stablecoin issuance, custody, a trading venue, broker-dealer services and legal advice are outside Stobox. We are a technology provider.
Building
Knowing who is behind an agent.
Today an agent can pay a counterparty it cannot identify. Verifying that a company exists, who controls it and whether its claims hold up is what we have done for issuers since 2018. Applying it to the companies that operate agents is in design. It is not yet a product and it is not for sale.
